The Legend Golf and Safari Resort is inspired by the history, bounty and beauty of the South African bushveld. Rich cultural heritage, environmental conscience and diverse plant and animal life pulse through every aspect of its offering.
This unique golfing destination has been created to coexist with the Entabeni Big Five Nature Conservancy and flourish as a natural part of the environment.
GOLF & CONSERVATION
In 2003 a dream was ignited. The aspiration to establish a destination where golf meets the magnificence of untamed African wilderness.

After Entabeni Game Reserve was successfully established as a Big 5 safari destination, Peet Cilliers had the vision to additionally develop a golf destination. Uniting golf with safari captivated Peet & his wife, Mart’s, imagination. Realising that this combination was not only a unique offering for South African but also, the world.
With conservation as their compass, they explored the idea of expanding the reserve to the east, where a golf course and property development adjacent to Entabeni Game Reserve would not hinder the victories that had already been achieved in rehabilitating and preserving natural habitat. It promised a magnificent addition to this destination without compromising the environment.
The area in mind was previously utilised as farmland, consequently it consisted of vast open spaces, with little to no trees. The vision was to work with nature to enhance and simultaneously rehabilitate the piece of land, by utilising natural slopes and existing flora & fauna in the development of the golf course.

AFRICAN ARCHITECTURE
A love for history, culture and its preservation stands at the heart of Legend Golf & Safari Resort.
Africa has always been the mysterious, enigmatic continent, the source and origin of a myriad of legends pertaining to its people, wealth and its history. The theme of the Legend Golf & Safari Resort reflects the monumental, architecture of Monomotapa, a region in Southern Africa that was known for its wealth and its extensive trading links to the East and Middle East.
The Great Enclosure at the entrance of the resort is a replica of the western wall of the UNESCO Great Zimbabwe National Monument. Whilst the Signature Clubhouse Complex is based on the exact footprint of Fort Nyangwe, which formed part of the Monomotapa Kingdom. In keeping with the theme, the residences within the estate are based on three African architectural designs, namely, Pedi, Waterberg and Monomotapa.
